Installing a power point in your Gold Coast Home on an external wall is always easier and cheaper than on a brick cavity wall. By drilling a hole in the brick inner cavity and pulling the cable upward to the roof space, we can join it to the existing power circuit. Power points are always recessed into the wall, and there is no mounting block in sight, which can look unsightly sticking out of the wall.

Power point installation to an internal single (non-cavity) wall is more labour-intensive and involves more materials, so installed power points to internal walls cost a bit more than for external cavity walls.

For internal walls, there are two options:-

Running the cable into the wall – This method is just like running the cable along the external wall (the cable or conduit is not visible, and the power point is recessed), however, plastering and painting are not included in the installation price. This solution is ideal for use before painting a room.

Surface mounted ducting – While this is not as attractive as the first option, it does not require plastering or painting. White square ducting is used to enclose the cable in this solution. Power points cannot be recessed, so a small mounting block is required. You may want to consider positioning the power point on the other side of a wall where ducting can be hidden, such as a wardrobe. This will minimize the visual impact.
